Abstract

Introduction: The body requires the consumption of nutrients to support the physiological activities of digestion, absorption and metabolism to maintain homeostasis. The metabolism of nutrients (carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals) plays an essential role in providing the body with the necessary substances to maintain internal homeostasis.
