Abstract
[...]John recognizes how the project of this book moves in a space not entirely defined by the philosophical language of the concept, that is, it seeks not to be defined by the demands of the logos. John's concluding question to me - "How is the image, as it marks one border of the space between word and image, to be itself determined?" - is one I will not be able to answer properly. [...]I came to see Plato's discussions of the relation of words and images as decisive for the eventual definition of philosophy in ways I had not understood before. This space - one might describe it as the space of poetic practices - is the space within which we are able to be changed, formed, and transformed.
