Abstract

This paper proposes the empirical exploitation of the consumerÃƒÂ¢Ã¢"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s profit function in representing preferences, and specifying estimable yet general demand systems. An empirical application demonstrates the value of this generalisation and the feasibility of the proposed method.
