    Abstract

The article focuses on the approach towards the development of child-friendly and sustainable cities. It is stated that the main characteristic of a child-friendly city is that it provides children with freedom of movement to explore without any constraints. It is suggested that to promote a shift towards sustainable cities, child-focused policies should be employed. This can be achieved through several changes including traffic decrease, peer gathering places and, social integration.
