Abstract

The deployment of multiple antennas at the receiver or transmitter will increase the complexity and thus the cost of the communication systems. To design an MIMO system with a reasonable complexity is a challenge. Antenna selection is a very attractive technique in this field. In this paper, we investigate the outage performance of the TAS/MRC scheme over correlated Nakagami fading channels. An outage probability is derived by using an approximate probability density function. Computer simulation is conducted to evaluate the derived expression.
