Abstract

The deployment of multiple antennas at the receiver or transmitter will increase the complexity and thus the cost of the communication systems. To design an MIMO system with a reasonable complexity is a challenging task. Antenna selection is a very attractive technique in this field In this paper, we investigate the outage performance of the transmitter antenna selection/ receiver MRC scheme over correlated Nakagami-fading channels. We utilize the characteristics function method to derive outage probability. Computer simulation study is conducted to evaluate the derived expression.
