Abstract

We are not medical doctors. The editors and contributors to this volume cannot inform you why there are so many variants of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome-Coronavirus 2 2019 (SARS-CoV-2 virus) (or hereinafter 'COVID' or COVID-19)"”Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Omicron, or those yet to come are outside of our area of expertise. We do not know anything about spike proteins, except that they exist, and we are unable to tell readers with any certainty from whence the COVID virus originated, whether it crossed into humans from a pangolin, a raccoon dog, a bat, some other animal, or any number of other theories.
