Abstract

In this paper, an estimated weighting factor and two symbol timing estimators are proposed for timing synchronization of cyclic prefixed OFDM systems. The performance of the proposed estimators is assessed through computer simulations, and compared with that of the van de Beek's estimator and Müller's estimator. Experiments demonstrate that one of the proposed estimators outperforms Müller's and yields a similar performance van de Beek's but without requiring the priori knowledge of signal and noise powers.
