Abstract
Researchers have lauded the Internet in Australia as providing a safe space for same-sex attracted young people to experience community and learn about their sexuality - perhaps even find other people to connect with on a more material level.' However, in-depth qualitative analysis demonstrates that discourses of safe space and community potentially oversimplify the productive and constrained work that is an integral part of belonging online writes the author.
