Abstract

![CDATA[This paper investigates the impact of added PMs and its volume at different spaces in a permanent magnet assisted synchronous reluctance motor. A synchronous reluctance motor with linear flux barriers used to create permanent magnet assisted machines and the results are compared with the base design. An explicit investigation carried out on four different configurations for machine performance parameters such as torque, power factor and torque ripple while improving the machine efficiency. Analytical and finite element methods are used to compare performance. The permanent magnets improve the torque density, power factor, and efficiency of the machine. The paper proposes method to optimize torque ripples using magnets.]]
