Abstract

A much-needed assessment of the scale of the effects of pesticides on soil biodiversity in Europe will support regulation and conservation efforts. 

Chemical pesticides are widely used to control pests and disease-causing agents in agricultural, health and recreational settings. However, their excessive use can cause substantial harm to human health and to beneficial organisms, including birds, fish and pollinating insects
