    Abstract

This presentation will focus on the evidence base behind health-related physical activity interventions for older adults. Several studies being carried out by our research group will be discussed and findings presented. These include: the TeleWalk study, an investigation of telephone-counseling on physical activity and quality of life in older sedentary adults; the Healthy Steps project, an investigation of a pedometer-based Green Prescription for sedentary older adults; and various other studies of barriers to and motives for physical activity for older adults.
