Abstract

The two mixed media artworks investigate the ways in which fragments of familial objects can be re-claimed, manipulated and reassigned as signifiers within a visual narrative about identity. Combinations of 3D and 2D collage and painterly treatments have been used to express the dream-like and conflicting experiences of separation and attachment, alienation and familiarity.
