Abstract
Posthumanism is not one. We can only ever speak of posthumanisms (though as I will soon attempt to explain, even the plural remains inadequate). That posthumanism always (tacitly) means posthumanisms should be self-evident. One could even call it a truism at the risk of repeating the reduction of the plural to the singular. Isms retain a certain utility by allowing us to describe an idea, theory, or practice in broad brush strokes, but their usefulness is limited.
