Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The #metoo movement has cast a renewed focus on sexual harassment and assault in the workplace, “Power & Consent” by Rachel Doyle explores an infamous case from the Australian legal profession and reflects on the phe-nomenon in Australian society more broadly. Rachel Doyle, SC is a member of the Victorian Bar who also served as an associate on the High Court. Doyle has written a first-person perspective prompted by upheld claims of sexual harassment against a High Court judge, Dyson Heydon. The book covers the ensuing swirl of apologies, denials and debate in Australia’s public domain, drawing attention to the power dynamics that underpin and perpetuate sexual harassment and asks the question - why does this still happen?
