Abstract
This chapter will look at the distinctive insights which structuration theory can offer to the analysis of power. Whilst it will necessarily draw heavily from the more general account of the history and recent developments of the approach in my book Suucturalion Theory (2005), it will be distinctive in placing the focus much more squarely on power. I will organise the chapter around two central distinctions, and whilst I will spend much more time on the first this does not lessen the importance of the second.
