Abstract
At the end of last year I was asked to prepare Kumari, a work for solo piano written by Australian composer Ross Edwards, for a performance in the Aurora Festival on 29 April 2006, at the Riverside Theatres Parramatta, and to record the work for a commercial CD.¹ This paper focuses on aspects of this preparation process plus a conversation with the composer, and the voices of both authors are heard.
