    Abstract

Adolescence is a critical period for adequate calcium to achieve peak bone mass. The 2007 National Nutrition Survey indicated 82 to 89% of girls aged 12 to 16 years failed to meet Estimated Average Requirement (EAR) for calcium and poor intakes of dairy foods were common. It is of interest to investigate if this persists in young adulthood. The aim of the current study was to use geometric analysis of macronutrient distributions and intakes of dairy and calcium in young adults.
