Abstract

The focus of this report is on low-urgency paediatric presentations to hospital emergency departments which could potentially be managed in primary care. The report explores the current available Australian data and evidence on the reasons parents take their children aged 0-9 years with low urgency conditions to emergency, and describes services and models which would need to be in place to reduce rates of such presentaitons.
