Abstract
The popularity of processability theory (PT) is partly due to its universal application to learning any L2, and increasingly also its use in L1-L2 comparison, bilingual L1 acquisition, heritage language maintenance, and L2 in special populations. Once the development of a language is mapped out with PT, this becomes an ideal blueprint for research and applications to learnability, rapid profiling, L2 syllabus construction, assessment and teaching techniques.
