Abstract
Protein association is an extremely complicated colloidal phenomenon. Understanding its intricacies is hampered by limited experimental approaches and simplistic (compared to the problem at hand) theoretical models. NMR diffusion (i.e., pulsed gradient spin-echo NMR) measurements are emerging as an extremely powerful technique for addressing protein association phenomena. This paper examines some of the recent developments in this field together with considering what could be done to achieve greater clarification of what occurs at the molecular level.
