Abstract

The purpose of this project is to develop, implement, and analyze a set of quantitative indicators for census tracts comprising the six Skillman Foundation’s Good NeighborhoodsGood Schools Initiative (GN-GS) neighborhoods and for the remaining neighborhoods in the City of Detroit as a group, to gain a comparative, multi-dimensional portrait of the current and evolving neighborhood context in which Detroit’s children develop. It is not intended to be an evaluation of the Foundation’s strategies or past efforts in these neighborhoods.
