Abstract

Leiomyosarcoma (LMS) of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) are extremely rare mesenchymal tumours which account for 0.12% of colon cancers. The incidence of LMS of the colon is 1:100,000. They are usually aggressive, have a high local recurrence rate, and significant haematogenous spread with the liver being the most affected organ.
