Abstract
Implementing sustainable practice in a construction project is an important component in promoting sustainable development principles. There is a weak collaboration mechanism among project participants in the current practice for implementing sustainable construction. Roles and responsibilities among various parties need to be re-examined and redefined. This paper investigates causes that affect project sustainability implementation at various stages during construction project life cycle. Solutions for improving project sustainability through close collaboration between project participants are proposed. Data used for analysis are from surveys to professionals in construction industry.
