Abstract
![CDATA[The National Out-of-Home Care (OOHC) Standards were introduced in Australia in 2011 to align the quality of care provided to vulnerable children and young people across the country. These standards identify leisure as a key contributor directly influencing the outcomes of children and young people in care. This presentation explores the efforts of organisations working within the OOHC sector to comply with these standards and offer leisure-based services to carers and children and youth in the system. A content analysis was conducted to extract and review the text and images shared on the official websites of 18 OOHC organisations across all states and territories across Australia. The five dimensions of wellness framework and structural vulnerability theory directed the interpretations of the messages identified. Our findings indicate that OOHC organisations utilise leisure-based images not only promote their services but also to display their organisational culture and values to current and potential stakeholders; however, neglect to offer leisure opportunities and do not provide carers support to facilitate leisure. This presentation argues that further research is required but offers an enquiry into the provision of care, particularly leisure, and discusses a framework for leisure inclusion to support the life outcomes and wellbeing of children and young people in care.]]
