Abstract
This is a brief description of a paper presented by Jill Cheeseman and Barbara Clarke at the 30th annual conference at the Mathematics Education Group of Australasia (MERGA) held in Tasmania in 2007. As part of a larger study exploring teacher behaviours that challenge children to probe their mathematical understandings.
