RESidential Fires, Impact, Risk Factors and Economics (RESFIRE) Study: A NSW Population Study Using Linked Administrative Data: Report 1

Research output: Book/Research ReportResearch report

Abstract

This study is the first report for Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) of the large population-based retrospective cohort study that, for the first time, linked nine administrative datasets to provide a comprehensive profile of residential fires. In addition, data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics on advantage and disadvantage and pension payment dates were linked. It provides the ability to track an individual's pathway through first responder and health care system and to map their subsequent health outcomes. This report provides descriptive statistics on FRNSW Australian Incident Reporting System (AIRS) separately and linked with demographic information from the health system data. The initial findings presented are limited in scope at the moment as the research team is still in the midst of data cleaning and linkage.
