Abstract
This article examines the meaning of ââ"šÂ¬Ã‹Å“workââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢ as defined in traditional labour history. It advocates the expansion of the concept and understanding of 'work' to include volunteer and unpaid work which will lead to more ââ"šÂ¬Ã‹Å“subjective experiencesââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢ of labour history.
