Abstract
Codes of Ethics in Translating & Interpreting [T&I] have become increasingly examined in recent literature (Valero-Garcés & Martin 2008; Baker & Maier 2011; Tebble 2012), as practitioners in ever-widening fields of T&I practice see such codes as essential in underpinning their professionalism. The code of the Australian Institute of Interpreters and Translators [AUSIT], the national professional association, recently underwent a significant rewrite, and issues raised in this process reflect wider debates relevant to other codes of ethics internationally.
