Abstract

The first two decades of the 21st century have seen an explosion of interest in risky, outdoor play. Outdoor pedagogies have spread like mycelial networks from origin programmes such as Forest School in the UK—itself inspired by Danish models of early childhood education—and Australia’s bush kindergartens, to reach high-, middle-and low-income countries in every continent. This global movement is well represented here.
