Abstract

Roger Frampton comes alive!' (RFCA!) is the first film to explore the life of a key contributor to the development of Australian jazz. The only other film to have documented this history is Lucas’ Beyond El Rocco (1990), which lacks in-depth focus on specific contributors, omits details of the establishment of the country’s first formal jazz education program, and is now over 30 years old. RFCA! fills a gap in the research of this important field of Australian music history.
