Abstract

Track on CD, The Australian Saxophone Anthology, recorded in July 2013 at Performance Space, University of Western Sydney. Performed by Robert Woodward and Benjamin Burton, composed by Brett McKern. "Brett's Scherzo began life as a work for cor anglais that takes on a completely different character when transferred to saxophone. A jovial work in an extended rondo form, it features contrasting melodies and many meter changes keeping the performer on their toes. Other features include canon at the beat between the instruments whilst playing the triumphant melody."
