Abstract
The problem of evil is certainly central within the mimetic theory pioneered by Rene Girard. However, despite the incisive claim by Girard himself that I chose as exergis of this chapter, to really understand what evil is in the interpretative universe advanced by Rene Girard" to mark, as it were, the borders of the problem and to highlight its connections, particularly those that are less evident" is not an easy task. In fact, even if we limit ourselves to the assertive claim mentioned above, the question arises: what is the metaphysical desire?
