    Abstract

Oxidation of bismuth and molybdenum minerals in the pegmatite-like deposits of Kingsgate in the New England district of New South Wales, has given rise to a range of rare minerals. Some of these, such as cannonite, bismutoferrite and preisingerite, have not previously been reported from Australia. The supergene assemblage at Kingsgate is much more complex than has been thought previously.
