Abstract

Over a year ago now (how time flies!) we updated you on ASID's progress with tackling the issue of ensuring the ethical conduct of research in our sector. Just some context: In June 2012 ASID NSW/ ACT and Northcott Disability Services co-convened a forum, 'Research Ethics in to Practice: A Roundtable Discussion for Disability Service Providers', attended by 45 participants from across government, the not-for-profits, and universities. The forum resulted in a working party with the role of developing easy-to-use guidelines that service delivery agencies could use as a checklist and monitoring instrument.
