Abstract

The SEED AI Assistant Tool is an interactive, AI-powered design companion developed to support ideation and concept development within a regenerative design context. Informed by the SEED framework, it guides users through structured, values-driven reflection and creative exploration, helping them navigate social and ecological considerations in their design processes. The tool integrates conversational AI with SEED’s process to promote systems thinking, ethical awareness, and interdisciplinary approaches.

Importantly, the SEED AI Assistant Tool embeds the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within its guidance, helping users align design choices with global priorities for social and ecological regeneration. It prompts consideration of relevant SDGs during each stage of the design process, fostering more informed and purposeful outcomes.

Designed for flexible deployment across educational, industry, and community settings, it provides a scalable and adaptable support tool for fostering reflective and regenerative design practice.

The SEED AI Assistant Tool is currently being tested and refined across live projects, university programs, and industry partnerships as part of ongoing doctoral and practice-led research.
