Abstract

This paper presents a finite element analysis (FEA) model which can predict the behaviour of concrete filled steel tubular (CFST) members under impact loading and its validity was preliminarily verified by experimental data. Generally good agreement was achieved. The FEA model was then used to investigate the behaviour of CFST members when subjected to impact loading.
