    Abstract

Is learning to sing different for performers whose training is focused on acting than it is for performers whose training is focussed on singing? Our experience of teaching singing in an intensive actor-training course suggests that it is. This paper describes our approach to introducing acting students at the University of Western Sydney (UWS) to work in singing, and to the integration of this work with that done in acting, spoken voice and movement studies.
