Abstract

Simulating the role of a patient is not new to physiotherapy education, with students having practiced skills on each other for many years. However, there have been limitations with this learning experience and entry-level physiotherapy education is now incorporating simulated patients (SPs). Internationally, SPs have contributed to the training of physiotherapists and this has increased in recent years with the development of new technologies and educational design. This chapter describes an exemplar curriculum with SPs in the development of person-centred practice for physiotherapy students during their preclinical learning.
