N2 - Recent government reforms in NSW prioritise permanency and stability for children and young people who remain in long-term out-of-home care (OOHC). As part of such initiatives, it is critical that carers receive adequate training and support so they can help children heal from trauma, feel a sense of safety and belonging, and maintain connections to family and culture. However, the population of foster carers in Australia has been in decline over the past two decades. In response, efforts have been made to identify best practices in recruitment, training and retention to address the shortfall.
