Abstract
Investigations into the comparative successes of some projects over others have led to incremental understanding of the technical, methodological, and sociological dimensions of IT project management [16]. For example, when the technical dimension of two projects is similar (say, they both use Java and SQL Server) and still the projects end up differently, then methodology is often a factor. However, what is intriguing is when two projects with similar technologies and methodologies end up at different ends of the success spectrum. Obviously, the answer lies beyond technology and methodology.
