Abstract

Book Review: Stories from the Sandstone sets out to tell the history of the Sydney Quarantine Station in a set of narratives anchored to the numerous inscriptions engraved on sandstone cliffs and outcrops within the institution's boundaries by passengers on many of the approximately 600 ships detained there between 1833 and 1984, when it was closed.
