Abstract

![CDATA[Introduction/Conceptualization: This case study focuses on the experiences of faculty at two universities, which collaborated to facilitate a short-term study abroad experience. Surprisingly, the initial response from several potential partners was some variation of ‘what’s in it for us?’ The purpose of this case study is to begin answering that question. There is a considerable body of literature relating to study abroad experiences, consisting of thousands of articles published in peer-reviewed academic journals in the past 5 years alone. The majority of papers focused on the student experience: learning outcomes, transformational learning, intercultural competence, motivation for participation, behavior of students, and differences in learning between traditional classrooms and study abroad.]]
