Abstract

The STREAM project explored the development and implementation of an academic leadership capacity building program for early career nurse academics (ECNAs). This project was conducted during 2011-3 across the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Western Sydney (UWS) and the Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery and Health, University of Technology, Sydney (UTS). This report presents the findings of this ALTC funded leadership project and provides an overview of the challenges in building academic leadership capacity within early career academics in practice disciplines like nursing and midwifery.
