N2 - Feel the Magic, an Australian not-for-profit organisation, provides grief support programs and services to children and their families (Feel the Magic, 2021). Their largest program is Camp Magic, which runs in three states of Australia, both in person and virtually. It is a psychoeducational support program that includes mentoring and builds understanding of grief and strategies for supporting wellbeing and healing. Feel the Magic partnered with researchers from Western Sydney University, commissioning a series of four research projects that would enhance knowledge of the current service landscape, support understanding of child and family perspectives, and provide recommendations that would inform the high-quality implementation and expansion of the Feel the Magic service supports. More specifically, the research was guided by the following aims: 1. To map existing child bereavement support services nationally and internationally, and identify the elements that constitute best practice. 2. To understand the support needs, facilitators, and barriers to accessing support services and programs for children and families in their bereavement. 3. To explore child and parent experiences of the Feel the Magic program, identifying the strengths of the program and areas for improvement.
