Abstract
![CDATA[Female pelvic organ prolapse (FPOP) has been shown to be strongly associated with levator avulsion and excessive levator hiatal distensibility (1). A larger hiatus seems to be a risk factor for FPOP recurrence(2). Thus, reducing the size of the levator hiatus may enhance cure rates after FPOP surgery.]]
