Abstract
The Aegean coasts could be regarded as one of Turkey's major tourism areas with its natural and cultural properties. Along the Aegean Coastal, Cunda (Alibey) Island shelters urban and cultural heritage together. The reflections of unplanned development on the social, economic and touristic environment are being observed on the Island. A tourism planning aimed at sustainable tourism on Cunda (Alibey) Island could positively change the society's quality of life and provide economic benefits, preservation of urban and cultural preservation of tissue. This paper aims to assess the cultural and natural values of the Island, to examine tourism potential and to define a management plan model for a sustainable tourism.
