Abstract
Sydney Science Park (SSP) is being established as a world leading smart precinct that cultivates and attracts advanced research and development in Western Sydney and beyond. With the aspiration to become a unique innovation hub, a sustainable ecosystem and a vibrant integrated community, SSP is embracing the adoption of ubiquitous data capture technologies that can facilitate new R&D and support the creation of a truly responsive, data rich urban environment. Central to the success of SSP as a data rich ecosystem will be strategic investments in data assets and services that facilitate technology and research activities in key domains, while also improving the functionality and performance of the environment. This will require a strategic approach not only to data capture and storage, but also to the alignment of users, reporting tools and communities of practice to continuously contribute to the development of key data infrastructures and services.
