Abstract

Symmetrical homometallic dinuclear complexes of the type [{Ru(dpq)ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã¢â‚¬Å¡}ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã¢â‚¬Å¡(phenÃƒÂ¢Ã¢"šÂ¬Ã¢â‚¬Å“SOSÃƒÂ¢Ã¢"šÂ¬Ã¢â‚¬Å“phen)]ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚ÂÃ‚Â´ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚ÂÃ‚Âº, with a flexible 2-mercaptoethyl ether linker joining the two [Ru(dpq)ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã¢â‚¬Å¡(phen)]ÃƒÆ’Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ãƒ"šÃ‚Â²ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚ÂÃ‚Âº-based sub-units, have DNA dissociation constants (Kd) in the nM range.
