    Abstract

    The article presents the author's views on confocal endomicroscopy (CEM). According to the author, CEM is the technological advancement that has the potential to revolutionize gastrointestinal endoscopy. In contrast to currently available techniques, CEM uses a focal 488 nm wavelength laser light to stimulate exogenously administered fluorescent contrast agents.
